This is first blog about the data visualizer of the racing bar charts which really looks soothing and little bit of knowledge too. I have really collected the data from WNBA stats to make this visual of the Top 15 WNBA All Time Lead Scorer (1997-2019) due to Covid-19 pandemic the 2020 data hasn't been started yet for Women Basketball.Initially, regular-season Cup games were to be played through early July, followed by a final match in August; however, this schedule is subject to change due to disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic




LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is a professional basketball league in the United States. It is currently composed of twelve teams. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association(NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. Starting in 2020, a mid-season tournament, the Commissioner's Cup, will be added.

WNBA Basketball Rules
  • A regulation WNBA ball is 28.5 inches in circumference - one inch smaller than an NBA ball.

  • The WNBA has now expanded to 14 teams.

  • Games will now be divided into 10-minute quarters instead of 20-minute halves and the shot clock will be decreased to 24 seconds from 30 seconds.

SOME TIMELINE FACTS
  • The first WNBA game was played on June 21, 1997 between the New York Liberty and the Los Angeles Sparks. New York won the game 67-57.

  • The Houston Comets won the first WNBA title in 1997 in a one-game playoff victory over the New York Liberty.

  • Sheryl Swoopes, Tina Thompson and other top players in the WNBA played in the league's first All-Star game in 1999. The West defeated the East 79-61, with Lisa Leslie being name the game's MVP.

  • Sheryl Swoopes of the Houston Comets has won the WNBA's MVP award three times - sharing the number with Lisa Leslie and Lauren Elizabeth Jackson. Swoopes was also the first WNBA player to record a triple-double in a game and the first WNBA player to have a running shoe named after her - Nike's "Air Swoopes".

  • In 2001, the Los Angeles Sparks set an WNBA record by winning 18 straight games.

  • Lisa Leslie of the Los Angeles Sparks was the WNBA's all-time leading scorer when her career came to halt with 6,263 points. Leslie picked up two of those points on July 30, 2002, when she became the first WNBA player to dunk the ball during a game.
